Beginning Band & Beginning Orchestra

Monday, July 14th, 2008

We will be offering Beginning Band and Beginning Orchestra classes for the Fall 2008 semester.  These courses are designed for the beginning student who is currently in a home school or charter school environment.

They are meant to provide a group learning and performance opportunity that might otherwise not be available.  Primarily for ages 9 - 14, others will be considered on a case by case basis.

The semester will run for 14 weeks.  All classes will begin the week of September 1st, with Labor Day as a holiday with no classes and end on Wednesday, Dec 10th.  The Wednesday prior to Thanksgiving will also be taken as a holiday.

Instrument rentals are available.  Tuition for the 14 week class and the Band/Orchestra Method Book is a total of $250.00.

Early enrollment is encouraged to allow time for course materials to arrive……in other words….if you or someone you know is interested, you need to sign up now.  Call us at 212-8745 to enroll or get more details about the class.

The Teacher:  Laura Friedlander, Instrumental Music Instructor, holds a Bachelor of Music/Business, a Master of Music Performance and several hours towards a Ph.D. in Curriculum and Education.  She taught band and orchestra at both the middle school and high school levels for several years in North Carolina before relocating to Las Vegas.  Mrs. Friedlander has also taught General Music (K-12) as well as university courses to Music Education majors.  In addition to her teaching, she has performed with the Wichita Syphony, the Terre Haute Symphony, the North Carolina Symphony, the Winston-Salem Broadway Preview Series and other organzations around the country.

Next week (Apr 28-May 3) is our VIP Pre-Registration Week.  Our current students will have the opportunity to register for fall classes that will begin September 1, 2008.  This is your chance to get a head start on setting your calendar and knowing how and where to schedule other activities around your music lessons.

Your current lesson time is reserved thru the end of August and, with a few exceptions due to teacher availability changes, you may register for the same day and time for the fall.

Please come to the front desk next week and fill out the enrollment and payment authorization form.  Your annual registration fee will be collected at that time.  You may pay the registration fee with cash, check, or credit card.  If you are on the autopay system, you may authorize us to charge the registration fee at the next billing.

The non-refundable registration fee is $25 per student and $50 for two or more family members.

Starting on September 1, 2008, lesson rates will be as follows: Thirty minute lessons will be $115.00 per month and sixty minute lessons will be $230.00 per month.

If you wish to register for a different day and time for the fall, beginning on Monday, May 5, you may check with the front desk to see what openings are available for changes.
